PLASTEEL

For over four decades, Plasteel Frames has been the Northwest’s Premier Fine Frame Shop. Regarded as the area’s most innovative shop, Plasteel provides expert fine art knowledge and handling, fine art conservation, frame restoration, hand-crafted frames, various archival mounting services, and an endless variety of streamlined display solutions. In addition, Plasteel is now offering high quality works of Fine Art.

PHILOSOPHY

At Plasteel Frames, it is our belief that a successful presentation should allow the object being displayed to speak for itself. The supporting structure should enhance but not overpower the object. The object should remain the focal point.

HISTORY

Plasteel Frames was formed in 1974 by Tom Blue and Spike Hendricksen, two friends and recent graduates of the University of Washington’s Fine Arts Program. The Company moved from a basement operation on Seattle's Capitol Hill in the early days, to a storefront in Downtown Seattle’s Pioneer Square (85 Columbia St) to First Hill (824 12th Ave.) to its location in Seattle’s SODO District (3300 1st Ave. S. #400), and finally to it’s current location at The Seattle Design Center (5701 Sixth Avenue South, Suite 133).

Our high quality products have continued to evolve with the skill of our staff. A Fine Art Gallery has been added to bring Local, National, and International Contemporary Artists, to the public. The Gallery also offers a fabulous collection of 19th and early 20th Century American Paintings with some European and Latin American Examples. We are actively seeking and purchasing Original 19th and early 20th Century Paintings of high quality and can provide you with a discrete and easy alternative to auction houses to sell your fine art.
